“Just Another Job”
Reilly and Carpluk Funds
“layout!” artwork and design is officially starting business by taking orders for the release of the first of hopefully a large number of prints that are sold with the purpose of helping firefighters and their families. On August 27, 2006, a fire in the Bronx, NY tragically claimed the life of Probationary Firefighter Michael Reilly (E.75) and Lieutenant Howie Carpluk (E.42, covering in E.75). A memorial fund was immediately established for both men by their respective companies. The picture below, titled “Just Another Job” done many years ago depicting Engine Company 75, was ironically being used at a graphic print show in Baltimore to highlight the features of various scanners and printers, when this tragedy occurred.
In order to keep production costs low while starting out, the printer will only make prints on an “order only” basis. This ensures there is no leftover stock. The cost for a 24” x 18” unframed signed print is $40.00. Half of the cost of each print will be donated to each house fund in memory of Reilly and Carpluk. Orders can be placed by mailing a money order only payable to William Carey, c/o 11720 Beltsville Drive, Suite 300, Beltsville, MD 20705. You will be contacted once your order is received and once your print is shipped. To ensure safe and fair business a breakdown of production costs can be requested and all correspondence between “layout!” and the members of Engines 75 and 42 will be shared with each customer when it happens. For more information about “layout!” artwork and design, this print and its purpose, contact William Carey at bcarey6873@yahoo.com with “layout” in the subject field.
